UNION GROVE CHURCH OF CHRIST, CLEVELAND TN.

FACTS ABOUT THE NEW TESTAMENT CHURCH

Jesus promised to build it (Matthew 16:18).

Jesus did build it, just like He promised – In the New Testament we can read about it being in existence (Acts 5:11).

It was established in Jerusalem in the 1st century in about the year A.D. 30 (Acts 2).

Jesus bought it with His blood (Acts 20:28).

Jesus has all authority in it (Matthew 28:18).

Jesus is the Head of it (Ephesians 5:23).

Jesus is the Savior of it (Ephesians 5:23).

Jesus will deliver it up to the Father (1 Corinthians 15:24).

Its members are called "Christians" (1 Peter 4:16; Acts 11:26).

Its congregations are called "churches of God" (1 Thessalonians 2:14) or "churches of Christ" (Romans 16:16).

It has only one creed – the gospel of the Christ (Galatians 1:6-8).

The Lord adds saved people to it (Acts 2:47).

Part of God’s mystery, He planned it before the beginning of the world (Ephesians 3:4-11).
