SIX THINGS THAT GOD WILL NOT DO FOR US The Lord God is "Almighty" (Revelation 4:8). But we must recognize that there are some things that God wants humans to do, and thus, He will not do them for us. Think carefully about some of these things:
God will not study the Scriptures for us . Jesus tells us to search the scriptures (John 5:39). It’s up to each of us to open the Bible & study!God will not hear, believe, and obey the gospel for us. Obeying the gospel from the heart is required in order to be saved (Romans 6:3,4,17,18), but God won’t do it for us! God will not take our place & worship for us. Worship to God must be in spirit and in truth (John 4:24), but each human must do that from the heart. God cannot take our place and do it for us! God will not take up our cross & faithfully follow Jesus each day. Denying self & taking up our cross daily – that’s our duty! (Luke 9:23). God will not remove iniquity from our heart, tongue, & action for us. The Lord tells us to keep our heart with all diligence (Proverbs 4:23), for that is how we control our speech and conduct. God will not do it for us! God will not step in to love & be good to others for us. We must love others like we love ourselves (Mark 12:31). Loving our family, friends, neighbors, and all other humans – again, that is not something that God will do in our place! -- Roger D. Campbell |
