GOD DOESN’T TAKE POLLS

We hear so much today about polls. Gallup polls show how many people watch a certain television show, newspapers take polls to see what Americans are thinking, and businesses take polls to get an idea about what products folks are most likely to buy. Polls, polls and more polls. Do you ever get tired of hearing about them? Most of us do.

Do you suppose that God puts much stock in polls? Not at all. Why? There are basically two reasons. First, God doesn’t need to inquire about what people are thinking or doing because He knows everything (1 John 3:20). Second, God never seeks man’s input on any issue because He has already decided what is right & wrong. God’s ways & thoughts are way above man’s & His truth is unchanging, regardless of man’s desires! (Isaiah 55:8,9).

God doesn’t take a poll to find out what people want to do to be saved. No, in the Bible He has already told us what to do in order to have our sins washed away. What is that? Believe in Jesus as God’s Son (John 3:16), repent of every sin (Acts 3:19), confess faith in Jesus (Romans 10:10), and be baptized for the remission of sins (Acts 2:38). That is God’s way of salvation, and always will be.

God doesn’t take a poll to find out how many churches people would like to have. Why? Because Jesus already built His church, purchasing it with His blood (Acts 20:28). The Bible clearly says that there is one body or church (Ephesians 4:4). No poll of men can change that.

God doesn’t take a poll to see whether or not people are in favor of "same-sex" marriages. Why? Because He already wrote the Book on marriage – it’s called the Bible. God’s word calls for one marriage arrangement: one husband with one wife for life (Matthew 19:4-6). No, the Lord doesn’t take polls. He doesn’t need to.
